Google has just announced that they will now launch their new project Google Voice.
Google Voice will provide free VoIP Technology and Voice mail transcription service through the platform of Google Voice.
Currently Google Voice service is not available publically. This signals that the Application is still under construction and test.
The only way to enjoy this service is through an invite by someone already engaged in using these services of Google.
But, now Google has announced that all the students may be able to sign up for the Google Voice. To prove that they are students the email address in possession must on a .edu domain name. The example is
abc123@xyz.edu.pk
Google Voice also offers free Sms Service. The Students may sign up for the Google Voice by Entering their Valid .edu Email Address on the following page

Once entered an Invitation will be received from Google with in 24 Hours. Although Google is in a process of establishing a more robust platform for the users other contenders are currently building up their reputation by providing Quality Fully Featured Services.
