With the increasing popularity of Social Networks the popular social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook have turned a new effective media for sharing news and opinions with each other.
The increasing impact of social networks on ordinary user’s have created social networks a lucrative medium for popular brands to sell their products and recruit valuable corporate resources.
Although Social Networks are used for marketing and sharing opinions but one thing unique in its kind that has happened on social networks is one country is trying to develop friendly relations with another country.
Thanks to ProPakistani for highlighting this news. The Facebook fan page created in this scenario is called “Israel in Pakistan“. Israel wants to foster friendly relations with Pakistani people through using Facebook social network
There are currently no diplomatic relations between Israel and Pakistan and in fact Pakistan has not recognized the existence of Israel as yet. No Pakistani Embassy exists in Israel and no Israeli Embassy exists in Pakistan.
Well the excessive usage of social media websites in Pakistan especially Twitter and Facebook have yielded opportunities to interact with Pakistani audience through popular social networks. The fan page is advertised and people have started to join the fan page but the majority of user’s commenting on the page contravene the idea of the fan page.
The page states that
Since Israel and Pakistan do not enjoy formal diplomatic relations, this online embassy serves to foster friendship between nationals of Israel and Pakistan on Facebook. Hopefully we can soon build real embassies in Pakistan and Israel.
Mission
“The Embassy of Israel in Pakistan has created this Facebook page as a resource of information on Israel and provides updates on the Mission’s activities to the general public.”
Well i think this reflects the popularity of Social Media in Pakistan but at the end of the day the idea behind this fan page is never gonna succeed. Anyways thanks for sending a message of friendship to Pakistan.
