  • Filed under: Google, Pakistan Google Celebrates 64th Independence Day of Pakistan with Special Pakistan Logo by Young Aspirations on Aug 14th, 2011

I am a bit excited and happy while writing this post.

The Internet Google is celebrating the 64th Independence Day of Pakistan (14 August 2011) by changing their Search Engine Homepage (Pakistani Version http://www.google.com.pk) Logo into a Special Pakistani Logo.

google pakistan independence day 14 august 2011

The name of this Logo has been kept “Pakistan Independence Day” and as the name suggests the user is redirected to Google Search Results to the same term. This is the first time Google has given importance to Internet User’s of Pakistan.

If we think it on a perspective, this is really good news for IT Industry of Pakistan. As Pakistan is still facing growth in its Information Technology Sector and Technology penetration within the country has been at low levels but this Logo change by Google indicates the acknowledgment of huge growth potential within Pakistani IT Industry.

As the amount of Internet User’s has been rising in Pakistan this is a good step by Google. Since early 2010 I have been posting news about “Google Doodle Changes” but this time around i am overjoyed by covering this news with you. After this Logo change Google has turned my favorite Company.

Wishing a Happy 64th Birthday to Pakistan and Happy Independence Day to all Pakistani’s. Let’s just not forget how much our ancestor’s have sacrificed for this country. We have to Stand United as One Nation and Have to work ceaselessly towards prosperity of Pakistan. May Allah Bless Pakistan Ameen. Pakistan Zindabaad. Long Live Pakistan.

Get an Invite for Google + Social Network

Since yesterday when Google Officially announced test sign ups for its latest social network called Google +1 a lot of people have been found desperate over the internet searching for an invite to early join this highly anticipated Google + social network.

Google opened invites to join Google + social network yesterday but the invites have been blocked due to high demand and large volumes of sign ups within few hours. Its not far away when Google will launch its Google + social network for the general public but during the early phase the social network will only be used by selected personalities who managed to get an invite.

The invite for Google + has gone viral to such an extent that i heard people charging $27 on eBay to sell an invite to join the new generation social network.

Get an Invite for Google + Social Network

Well currently the invite for Google + social networks have been closed.

In order to score an invite the user’s can sign in to their Gmail or any other Google accounts and open

    Google +

The user needs to enter his full name and email id and press the button submit. Google will automatically send you an invite when the invites are opened or will inform you the procedure for signing up to the Google + social network.

It is highly advised not to get trapped in any internet scams. People who are charging money for an invite towards joining Google + social network should be ignored and if a user buys an invite it will be useless because the invites already available are also suspended due large volumes of active user’s on the Google + social network.

Google + Social Network a Brief Introduction:-

Overall Google + is the upcoming sensation in the world of social media and Google will have an edge over Facebook that is disliked by many due to data privacy, abusiveness and ethical issues.

Google + has all the features within the facebook but with a better taste and enhanced user interface. Some extraordinary features like Group Video Chat called “Google Hangout’s” are making Google + one of the most attractive things over the internet.

Websites are talking about Google + and web is filled with reviews about Google +. In short Google + will soon overtake other social networks to gain number 1 spot in social media.

  • Filed under: Google Google Motion Beta Google does it again its 1st April 2011 by Young Aspirations on Apr 1st, 2011

The Internet Giant Google does not miss any opportunity to multiply its exposure when it comes to marketing tactics. Whether it is a new update in its services or the launch of a new product Google keeps everything going smoothly to end up achieving more visibility within the eyes of ordinary user’s.

It was 1st April 2010 when we shared a big joke from Google with the ordinary Gmail user’s see the post written by Rise Dream on 31st March 2010 “Gmail suffers Technical Error“.

Now Google Does the same this year 2011 but with a different kind of joke for celebrating the April Fool’s Day. At least in 2011 they never made us waiting for so long to disclose the reality of the Google Data Center Break Down.

Let me share how i discovered Gmail Motion. I was browsing my Gmail today when i saw a notification on the main Gmail page once I logged out of my Gmail Account. Last year i saw the April Fool notification at the same place once i logged out of my account.

The notification indicated that a new service has been launched by Google named “Gmail Motion Beta” that is the new way of interaction with the computer through human gestures.

A complete page was created with a you tube video embedded. The page existed here on 1st April 2011

    Google Motion Beta

Full entices were created on this page that claimed health advantages when people will do more physical activity through this feature. The Page claimed that only a webcam needs to be installed on the computer and once the human body moves the computer interprets the motion into commands however this is practically impossible until the next couple of years.

When i clicked on the “Try Gmail Motion Button” with dark blue background a pop up notification emerged taunting “April Fools”. Gmail Motion does not exist and close this silly box.

I was surprised at the Business Development Department of Google Inc they are thinking ahead of us and have really moved me a little and the fact is more clear that in order to be a market leader you need to be proactive in generating new ideas to convince customers.

  • Filed under: Google, Social Networks Google +1 Button intends to Spice Up Google Search by Young Aspirations on Apr 1st, 2011

Since February 2011 a lot has been happening on Google Search Engine. In the late February 2011 we heard the Google Algorithm Update to penalize websites consisting of spam and content farms. This algorithm caused a lot of damage to SEO companies.

Now in late March 2011 Google has rolled out Google +1 Button in its Search Results. Google +1 Button will let the user’s recommend popular web pages to their family, friends and other contacts.

    google +1

Although a lot of speculation was created in December 2010 when reports claimed the leaked image of Google +1 and claimed it resembled Facebook Like Button.

Now when some official announcements have been witnesses i could judge from the first glimpse the Google +1 button seems to be unique and useful.

In order to use Google likes one needs to have a public Google Profile.

The dynamics of the working Google +1 is based on the idea when a user searches for something and finds a thing really informative, well written and useful he may recommend that website to his other contacts. Although only the contacts existing in the Gmail Profile will be notified about the shared search result. The shares by the user may be visible to public or may be hidden if the user is using +1 button to create a directory of cool web links he has searched on Google.

Some sources claim that this +1 Google Button will have no effect on the rankings of websites in Google Search Engine at least in the initial days but one could not turn down the possibility of consideration of this feature in constructing Google Search Results Ranking for the upcoming days.

However the release of this new Google +1 button has been announced but still it will take some time for it to be completely integrated within the Google search results.

The innovation in Google is making Google a leader in internet Industry and an example for other companies to follow. It’s a good idea but lets see the technical and social aspects of this service once this service is officially rolled out by Google.

Google has today announced addition of support for viewing 12 more types of file formats online with Google Docs. The New Formats that were previously incompatible but now executable in Google Docs are listed below

    * Microsoft Excel (.XLS and .XLSX)
    * Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 / 2010 (.PPTX)

Google docs now also supports important file formats like DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, XLS and XLSX. Moreover quick viewing capabilities for many of the most popular and highly-requested document and image types is now added.

Google Docs which is a very handy tool by Google is mostly used by Gmail User’s to view any .pdf file or power point presentation file online that they receive as an attachment to an email message.

Viewing files online in Google Docs is beneficial as it protects the user’s from downloading malicious or infected files while on the other hands speeds up the process by saving time of downloading the attached file from the email message first, then scanning for viruses and lastly opening and viewing the file.

As Google Docs can be used for any website with full chrome or as an add on so this step may increase the popularity of Google Docs in future.

It is very nice to see support for some very important file formats. I myself tried to open .doc extension file that I received as an attachment to an email message but it was not easy. Now Google has solved this problem and added support for more important file formats specially the Microsoft Excel files.

Google which is capturing a high percentage of Market Share in the Industry through excellent and reliable services has progressed one step forward in its competition with Microsoft Office 2010 with extended Web Capabilities. The Internet Giant Google is indulging into a lot of new feature additions of its existent services.  Recently on the Official Gmail Blog Google has expressed its Intentions of launching the Google Cloud Printing feature very soon.

    What is Google Cloud Print

Google Cloud Print facility is a Web Application that allows a user to remotely instruct a tangible printer for printing the hard copy of a soft document or email attachment.

Google Cloud Service allows a user easy remote access to physical printers when he is away from those.

    Requirements

The Newly launched feature Google Cloud Printing will be compatible to work with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and iOS Devices. Mac and Linux Support is expected to roll out soon.

    Mechanism

Google Cloud Print App connects with the allowed Physical Printer that has access to the Internet. Once the printer is connected to the Google Cloud Print service the Ordinary Apps in the Smart Phones or Laptops may send the requisition of printing an email attachment or any other soft copy document to the Google Cloud Printing Service.

Once Google Cloud Print receives the demand it can print hard copies from the connected and compatible tangible printer no matter how far away from the instructor they are located.

    Quick Review

Although Google Cloud Print is a very good service but it is more suitable to the needs of high class business men as other organisations will seldom allow remote access to their assets like tangible printers. Google may look forward in introducing any type of wireless transmission printing option in future. The Google Cloud Service looks attractive from the first glimpse but nothing much could be said until is available for use.
